A strip mall owner in Hollywood is playing classical music in an effort to deter homeless people from the area.

Several homeless tents were seen set up along the street in front of businesses and a courthouse in the area.

The music is coming from speakers in the parking lot of the strip mall, playing from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m.

According to the property owner, two restaurants who had been in the strip mall for 40 years closed their doors after they became fed up with the homeless people around their business.

“People got earplugs, they could stuff tissue in their ears and stuff like that,” said Daris Odin, who is homeless in Hollywood. “I don’t think it’ll stop anybody from coming over here and sleeping.”

This is not the first instance where property owners use music in hopes of having homeless people leave.

Another building in downtown LA also attempted to fend off homeless tents by playing “Baby Shark” through a loudspeaker pointed directly at the encampment.
