The Iconic Hotel Café is set to close in early 2026, with plans to reopen in 2027 at a new location
The Hotel Café, a well-known Hollywood music venue that has hosted countless singer-songwriters over the past 25 years, will close its current location in early 2026. The owners announced the news on Instagram, noting that this is “not the end for us.”
The venue, located at 1623 N. Cahuenga Blvd., has not set an official closing date, but its website lists performances through December 16. Before shutting its doors, the Hotel Café plans to hold a series of farewell shows featuring longtime performers and new artists alike.
In their statement, the owners wrote, “The Hotel Café has been more than a venue. It has been a family, a refuge, a launchpad for countless careers, and a place where magic regularly happens.”
Over the years, the Hotel Café has become known for launching the careers of many musicians, particularly in the singer-songwriter and acoustic genres. Artists such as Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Adele, Katy Perry, Brandi Carlile, and KT Tunstall have all performed there early in their careers.
The owners plan to reopen the Hotel Café in the first half of 2027 inside Lumina Hollywood, a new development at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Gordon Street. According to the announcement, “The expanded venue will honor the soul and intimacy of the original location while offering a more modern, elevated experience for both artists and audiences.”
