The Los Angeles Dodgers received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 20, 2008, becoming the first sports franchise honored by the Hollywood Historic Trust and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

The Dodgers’ Award of Excellence star was added to the famed area that includes a wide collected of real and fictional celebrities who have had a significant impact on the entertainment industry.

Then-Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and his wife and former team president Jamie McCourt accepted the award at a ceremony held in front of the Hollywood & Highland complex. They were accompanied by Vin Scully, Joe Torre, Tommy Lasorda, Jaime Jarrín and more members of the franchise.

Ana Martinez-Holler of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said at the time the Dodgers received the award in recognition of their significant contributions to Los Angeles and world culture and entertainment.

Fittingly, the Dodgers had their star on the Walk of Fame unveiled the day prior to their 50th annual Hollywood Stars softball game that comprised of entertainment celebrities playing at Dodger Stadium.

The Hollywood Historic Trust and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce began presenting Awards of Excellence in 2005. The Dodgers were the seventh recipient, following the likes of Daily Variety, Disneyland, The Hollywood Reporter, KTLA-TV Channel 5, Los Angeles Times and National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.

Scully also received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Vin Scully star is located at 6675 Hollywood Boulevard. In 2024, Orel Hershiser received the same honor and Dodgers part-owner Billie Jean King was recognized with a star in April 2025 as well.

Where is Dodgers Hollywood walk of Fame star?

The Dodgers star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame is located on the North side of the 6800 block of Hollywood Blvd.
