After a year that seems to have packed in an entire career, Zendaya has admitted she feels the need to slow down. The actress revealed that she wants to take a break from Hollywood after months filled with new film projects, promotional commitments, and her much-talked-about wedding to Tom Holland. It’s been an intense period that has seen her star in no fewer than five productions in just twelve months, as well as experience one of the most important moments of her personal life. From the highly anticipated *The Odyssey* by Christopher Nolan, where she returns to star alongside her husband, to her return as Rue in *Euphoria*, as well as *The Drama* with Robert Pattinson, *Dune: Part Three*, and voicing a new character in *Shrek 5*, scheduled for 2027.
A jam-packed schedule that, despite her success and satisfaction, has led her to reflect on the need to take a break. In an interview with ELLE a few weeks ago, Zendaya spoke about her ambivalent relationship with the idea of taking a break. “It’s going to be a long year, but the great thing is that I’m really proud of everything I’m doing. I really love my job,” she explained. “But I think that after all this, I’ll have to take some time for myself. Although, as soon as I take a break, I start going crazy. And I think, ‘I need to work.’”
Now, as the premiere of *The Odyssey* draws to a close, Zendaya also shared how she envisions this time away from the spotlight. When the *Entertainment Tonight* reporter asked her what she would be doing during the break, her answer was surprisingly simple: “Oh, girl, nothing. I’ll just mind my own business, you know? And I’ll just be by myself.” The actress then added: “It’s all been such a whirlwind. You find yourself in a new place every second, and your brain is all over the place. It’s fun, and I’m grateful—I wouldn’t change a thing—but sometimes you just need to disappear for a while.”
