Anthony Mackie is the New Orleans-born actor who broke out opposite Eminem in ‘8 Mile’ before turning a supporting Marvel role into a leading-man run as Captain America. A Juilliard graduate with a stage pedigree, Mackie logged early credits in ‘Half Nelson’, ‘Million Dollar Baby’ and Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar-winning ‘The Hurt Locker’ — proving he could carry drama long before the MCU came calling.\n\nHe debuted as Sam Wilson / Falcon in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ in 2014, then anchored Disney+’s ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ opposite Sebastian Stan, a series that ended with Sam picking up the shield. That handoff paid off in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, with Mackie leading the franchise as its new Cap.\n\nOutside the suit, Mackie has stacked genre wins — Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon’ Season 2, the sci-fi thriller ‘Outside the Wire’, ‘Synchronic’ with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, and the Twisted Metal series adaptation for Peacock. He’s also a producer, restaurateur and vocal advocate for building a film industry hub in his native Louisiana.
