Beloved A-list couple, Tom Holland and Zendaya — Tomdaya, to some — may have already gotten married earlier this year. The nuptials, let slip by Zendaya’s long-time stylist Law Roach on a red carpet before Holland also confirmed that they’d tied the knot, seemed to have been extremely low-key. But U.S. and U.K. press are now reporting an even bigger wedding bash has taken place amidst the pair’s box office-obliterating summer.

Not only have they scored the highest-grossing first week in domestic box office history with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has officially surpassed $500 million in North America and well over $1 billion worldwide, but their earlier July release, Christopher Nolan’s three-hour adaptation of Homer’s epic The Odyssey, is also officially nearing the $1 billion mark. If those numbers aren’t cause for celebration…

So it’s only fitting that, as reported by The Times and People on Friday, Holland and Zendaya spent Aug. 4 hosting a larger group of friends and family for a post-nuptials party at a spectacularly grand hotel — described as “Great Gatsby vibes” by travel bloggers — just an hour’s drive from London. The country house, called Beaverbrook, is on a sprawling estate (470 acres, to be exact) in Surrey, in the English countryside, not far from Kingston, where Holland grew up.

It’s a savvy choice as it not only offers privacy but also easy access for some 250 high-profile guests, some of whom would have been flying into the nearby private terminals at Heathrow, London City or Farnborough Airport. (Although the hotel also has a helipad.) It boasts 56 rooms as well as entirely separate villas and cottages a stone’s throw from the main building.

A source told People that there was “a very natural theme” to the party and attendees included Holland’s three brothers Sam, Harry and Paddy. The British press say Zendaya’s Dune co-star Timothée Chalamet came with partner Kylie Jenner in tow, and Holland’s MCU colleague Robert Downey Jr. also showed up.

Beaverbrook was built in the late 1860s and later named after a man called William Maxwell Aitken, a member of the landed gentry who was an enormously influential figure in British media and politics during the 20th century. He owned the Daily Express and Evening Standard and was close to former wartime leader Winston Churchill. They were reportedly such good friends that Lord Beaverbrook hosted Churchill during some of the darkest days of World War II, using the mansion as a war bunker and regularly holding war cabinet meetings there. Lord Beaverbrook added a swimming pool, electricity and, reportedly, one of the country’s first home cinemas.

Among some of the building’s most high-profile guests before it was opened to the public in 2007 were Elizabeth Taylor, James Bond author Ian Fleming and The Jungle Book writer Rudyard Kipling. It now houses a vast art collection with works from the likes of Gerhard Richter, Marianne North and Jean Cocteau. On site are a spa, a Japanese restaurant, a deli, tennis courts, pickleball and padel courts.

Beaverbrook also just so happens to be a short drive from Brookwood Cemetery, where Holland and Zendaya shot scenes for Spider-Man: Brand New Day — in the film, Peter Parker lays flowers on Aunt May (Marisa Tomei)’s grave.

Surrey is particularly popular with producers searching for grand, historic architecture and that cozy, English countryside aesthetic. Among some of the best-known projects to have filmed at neighboring estates are The Crown (De Vere Horsley Towers), Bridgerton (Painshill Park, Loseley Park) and The Holiday (the snow-capped village where Cameron Diaz stays and falls in love with Jude Law is nearby).

And while confirmation has yet to come from the Hollywood stars that this week’s Beaverbrook soiree did in fact take place, it is undoubtedly a chic enough setting for — and worthy of — Tomdaya.
