Not all veterans are destined to stay the course and, conversely, sticking around doesn’t guarantee legendary status. That said, The Hollywood Stars is one of those bands that you can’t help but feel got a raw deal. The Los Angeles glitter stompers’ best known song, “King of the Night Time World,” was covered by Kiss for the classic 1976 Destroyer album, and most people think it’s Kiss’ song. The Stars has rerecorded it for this new album and, importantly, it’s not even the best song on here. The title track is an insistent, glammy good time, and “Will the Lights Go on Again?” recalls the heyday of American radio rock.
