The milestone was reached Sunday, 37 days after the Universal Pictures and Syncopy film opened in theaters, according to representatives for the TCL Chinese Theatre.
“The TCL Chinese Theatre has been at the center of Hollywood’s moviegoing history for nearly a century, making this an extraordinary milestone for both the theatre and `The Odyssey,”‘ Jim Orr, Universal Pictures’ president of domestic distribution, said. “It’s a tremendous achievement for Chris, Emma and the entire Syncopy team, and a real testament to the singular cinematic experience they’ve created.”
