At the Venice Film Festival, Susan Sarandon said she has recently lost film roles over her support for Palestine, underscoring continuing fallout within Hollywood. In remarks quoted by Variety, the Oscar winner said the narrative around the Gaza conflict has shifted and referenced U.S. support for Israel. She discussed the issue while promoting The Echo Chamber.Sarandon said some agencies still advise against hiring her and thanked director Andrea Pallaoro for casting her. She was dropped by UTA in 2023 after pro-Palestinian rally comments. The Echo Chamber premiered in competition on Sept. 6, with Italy release set for Sept. 10.
