Gary Oldman, who played Sirius Black in the Harry Potter film franchise, is sharing his thoughts about the upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ series. The actor, in a candid interview shared his excitement for the show, and revealed why he thought it could offer fans a ‘more satisfying’ experience than the blockbuster films.Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Oldman explained that the films were forced to leave out substantial portions of the JK Rowling books due to their runtime issues. He said, “We had to cut a lot, and still we could only get the films down to, like, three hours. I believe [the TV series is] gonna do it pretty much word-for-word, which I think, as a viewer, would be more satisfying.”

Gary Oldman praises original ‘Harry Potter’ cast
Oldman also reflected on the people responsible for bringing the original wizarding world to life on the big screens. “When you think of that initial cast, someone in the story who doesn’t get a lot of credit anymore is Chris Columbus, who set the world up and cast it,” Oldman said.“We were extraordinarily lucky to have those people come back again, and again, and again, and literally grow into those roles.”
