The Primetime Emmy Awards, Hollywood’s biggest night in television, is back after a year of new beginnings and heartfelt endings.

Several shows in their first seasons have garnered multiple nods, with “Widow’s Bay” up for 19 awards, “Pluribus” 18, “DTF St. Louis” 13, “Spider-Noir” 11 and “The Beast in Me” nine.

Follow live coverage of the 2026 Emmys

“The Pitt” leads the overall pack with 25 nominations, followed closely by the final season of “Hacks,” with 24.

Fan-favorite “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” has nine nominations. CBS announced the end of the franchise last year, and the final episode aired in May.

Many other familiar shows are back this year, too, including “Beef,” with 16 nominations; “Shrinking,” with 10; “Slow Horses,” with nine; “The Bear,” with eight; “Abbott Elementary,” with seven; and “Only Murders in the Building,” with five.

Whether you plan to tune in live or track the winners online, here’s what to expect from this year’s Emmys.

When are the 2026 Emmy Awards?

The Emmys will take place starting at 8 p.m. ET Monday at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Where can I watch or stream the Emmys?

Viewers can watch the broadcast on NBC or stream the event live online with a Peacock subscription.

Who is hosting the Emmys in 2026?

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hargitay will host this year’s Emmys. Hargitay is coming off two wins this season for the documentary “My Mom Jayne.”

Hargitay follows 2025 host Nate Bargatze, who made a splash with charity donations for too-long speeches — a stunt with major returns for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and mixed reviews from audiences for its execution.

When does the red carpet start?

E! will host red-carpet events throughout the night, with a preshow starting at 5 p.m. Live red-carpet coverage will kick off at 6 p.m. — but fans should expect a blue carpet, instead.

Which shows have the most Emmy nominations this year?

HBO’s “The Pitt” leads the nominations with 25, followed by “Hacks” with 24. Apple TV+ trails with 19 for the first season of “Widow’s Bay” and 18 for Season 1 of “Pluribus.”

Who is predicted to win in 2026?

This year’s Emmys pit longtime favorites against breakout stars, and shake-ups can be expected.

“The Pitt” is likely to take home a decent amount of hardware, and “Widow’s Bay” is poised to make a splash in its first year.

Jean Smart is looking for her fifth win in a row for the role of Deborah Vance in “Hacks,” another Emmys favorite. The win would be her eighth, tying her with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cloris Leachman for most acting Emmys for a single performer.

Meanwhile, Rhea Seehorn is expected to win her first Emmy as the star of Vince Gilligan’s “Pluribus.”

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” is also expected to win. It won best talk series to raucous applause last year, just months after its fate was announced.

Longtime Emmys darling “The Bear” has already earned its first win for best guest actor in a comedy, which went posthumously to Rob Reiner.
