The timing works on more than one level. Not only are they family – Stanley is married to Emily’s sister, Felicity Blunt – but they are also fronting one of the year’s biggest films, The Devil Wears Prada 2, which gives the joint moment added relevance.

I know some of you will look at the British actress in this Magda Butrym Spring 2026 crochet dress and wish she had kept the exaggerated hips rather than shifting the focus to the shoulders. But the shoulder detail works here, offering a modern, empowered silhouette, while the exaggerated hips would have added more balance but also pushed the look into editorial territory that the occasion didn’t call for.

Simple white strappy sandals and her ongoing affinity for Mikimoto pearls complete the look.

Stanley looked as charming as ever in a pink striped suit, with a contrasting pocket square adding a crisp finish.

Meanwhile, Meryl Streep was back in Meryl Streep mode, wearing a sandy Saint Laurent suit styled with a khaki bow-tie blouse.

Emily’s stylist is Jessica Paster and Meryl Streep’s stylist is Micaela Erlanger.
