Evenin! This is Sean McNulty (connect with me on LINKEDIN here if ya like or email me at [email protected]), and here’s the Hollywood + Media news to know on SUNDAY, November 2, 2025.

Where there’s nothing quite like the joy that losing daylight at 4:50 p.m. brings to life. Other than knowing that this won’t start to get better for about 7 weeks.

But kudos to the West Coast on the big sports weekend. With the number of GIANTS on the IR that the NINERS added to today, I give it two weeks before LT and Carl Banks are called back to the field.

HMM: Thursday, Bloomberg publishes a piece on how Rob Drydek gets paid at least $32M a year to essentially program 90% of MTV with Eddie Murphy’s favorite show, Ridiculousness . . . and Friday PARAMOUNT says the show is over. Gee, thanks, Bloomberg. Er, well, that is it’ll stop airing sometime in 2026, otherwise it’d have to start airing music videos or something.

  • Bloomberg also reported that Drydek’s payday could have risen to more than $45M a year into 2028/29 seasons.

  • But clearly, #ElliShell does indeed have some new plans for MTV afoot.

AH: Welcome to the Botox party, Millennials! 😁 Gen Z 6%’ers — we really need to have a talk.

YEAH: Data sets being used to train AI bots at MICROSOFT, META, BYTE DANCE and more hoovered up many hours of YOUTUBE videos from FOX NEWS, ABC NEWS, BLOOMBERG and others — in case you wonder how the U.K.’s CHANNEL 4 could have so easily created a fake/AI anchor for a recent doc special.

AND: Gotta wonder just how many new signups ESPN D2C got this weekend thanks to the continued YOUTUBE TV blackout. Eh, I’m sure DISNEY will totally tell us on the earnings call in 2 weeks.

ALSO: Trump is on 60 Minutes tonight for a double-segment sitdown with Norah O’Donnell, so at least he’s found his next charade to create an excuse for an additional payment around a WBD deal.

BUT: This was pretty great last night.

WAKEUP BOX OFFICE POLL

KPop popped to a level that was expected, kudos to my fellow 37%.
