The 1995 drama Hollywood Deadbeat will be released on DVD June 9 from MVD Entertainment Group and Whacked Movies.
Set in the late 1980s, it’s the story of struggling filmmaker Randy Calhern, whose efforts are met with rejection. He lives in a decaying Hollywood apartment with eccentric characters. His fascination with the Golden Age of movies leads him to visit the cemetery to ask the ghosts for guidance. Drinking leads him to believe his dilutions as the spirits show up to lure him into their world.
Special features include “Shooting Dallas for Hollywood”; “Scoring Hollywood Deadbeat: Mark Ridlen”; and interviews with writer/director Glen Coburn, production designer/producer Kay Bay, director of photography Russell Blair, and Richard Dale Murphy (Curtis).
