The Royal Film Performance World Premiere of “Digger” will take place at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square on Tuesday, September 22, with Prince William and Princess Catherine attending in support of the Film and TV Charity.
As reported by the Daily Express, the Waleses will be welcomed by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and senior figures from the Film and TV Charity before making their appearance on the red carpet. The royal couple is also set to meet the cast and creative team, including Tom Cruise and filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
They will then be welcomed by the cinema manager and introduced to beneficiaries of the Film and TV Charity. Afterwards, the pair will head into the auditorium for the screening.
For the unversed, the Royal Film Performance plays a key role in raising vital funds for the charity. The organization supports professionals across the film, television and cinema industries, including the many behind-the-scenes talents who bring stories to life on screen.
Tuesday’s premiere is being hosted by Warner Bros. Pictures and the Film and TV Charity. It will mark the 73rd Royal Film Performance staged by the organization in its more than 100-year history. The charity provides everything from mental and physical wellbeing support to financial aid, ensuring industry workers have help when they need it.
Prince William and Kate Middleton previously met Cruise at the UK premiere of “Top Gun: Maverick.” The Hollywood star graciously assisted the Princess up the red-carpet steps as the group exchanged conversation and posed for photos.
Prior to the public debut, Cruise reportedly arranged a private screening of the film for the royal Family. The gesture came after he learned that the royal heir has a passion for flying.
