PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – This week, watch the era of silent film leap back to life at The Hollywood Theatre.
“Sonic Silents,” a new festival curated by Portland composer Mark Orton – who has scored movies like “The Holdovers” and “Nebraska” — is reimagining silent films of yesteryear with a live score.

He joined AM Extra to talk about the inaugural festival, including a special presentation of Buster Keaton’s The General, which was filmed in Cottage Grove, Oregon before it was released in 1926.
