REVIEW: If You Grab This Giant Pretzel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, DO NOT Forget the Cheese

We love pretzels, and we’re not sorry about it. Big pretzels, Mickey-shaped pretzels, pretzel bites, we don’t care, we will devour them, especially if it comes with a cup of cheese.

We recently went to BaseLine Taphouse in Hollywood Studios to see if this pretzel lives up to the hype, and you’re coming along with us.

BaseLine Tap House is a bar and restaurant in Hollywood Studios. It’s in the Grand Avenue section of the park next to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. They’re open from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Mobile ordering isn’t available, so you’ll need to head inside and place your order at the counter.

BaseLine Tap House

The atmosphere of BaseLine Tap House is very casual and laidback. It’s inspired by Los Angeles bars and restaurants, where Disney creatives take lunch breaks from movie-making. You’ll order at a standard bar counter with a vintage California charm, featuring a large menu of craft beers and spirits.

Most seating is outdoors, and umbrellas or trees provide shade at all tables. There’s also some seating inside that we go to when we need some air conditioning. While the seating area is located on a busy street, fencing and shrubs make it feel very quiet and intimate. The background music is vintage rock-pop that contributes to the laid-back, adult atmosphere, but kids are certainly welcome. It’s a great spot to sit back and relax with a drink.

To drink, we got the Wild Strawberry Lemonade for $6.29. This is a Minute Maid Lemonade with strawberry syrup. We recommend grabbing a straw to stir the drink with since the syrup wasn’t mixed in well.

Strawberry Lemonade

On the first sip, this lemonade was very sweet. Combined with the sweetened strawberry syrup, the tartness you’d usually expect from lemonade was completely cut. We’d recommend this Strawberry Lemonade if you want a sweet drink on a hot day. This would also be great for kids, since it’s only one of two nonalcoholic options.

To snack on, we grabbed the Bavarian Pretzel for $12. This is a jumbo pretzel topped with flaky salt that’s served with a beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard.

Bavarian Pretzel

We found the pretzel itself to be pretty dry, and ours could have used more salt. However, these dipping sauces quickly converted us! The beer cheese is creamy and flavorful. The mustard was tangy and had a strong heat that packed a punch! These sauces were the star of the show, and come on, the pretzel is just a vessel for cheese, right?

We loved these sauces!

This felt like a Mickey pretzel but for adults! This pretzel is great for someone looking for a more elevated pretzel, as it includes some tasty sauces with strong flavors. It’s also a large, shareable size, so it’s perfect for couples or duos, as long as you won’t fight over these amazing sauces! If you prefer, you can grab two cheese sauces if you don’t want the mustard (or vice versa but we really like the cheese).

BaseLine Tap House is a must-visit if you’re looking for a casual adult experience at Hollywood Studios. They don’t require reservations like other bars in the park, and this is the only quick-service bar that also serves food. The restaurant also has ample seating for families or large groups.

Baseline Tap House

You might want to choose a different bar if you’d like a variety of mocktails and non-alcoholic options, since they only have two non-alcoholic drinks. Have you been to BaseLine Tap House before? If so, leave a review below!
