Backrooms, already A24’s top grossing movie of all time domestically and lgobally, continues to find cash in all corners of the world. The A24 film crossed a milestone $350 million globally Sunday after 37 days in theaters.

It’s been one of the breakout success stories of the summer, with the $10 million film outgrossing tried and true franchises such Star Wars entry The Mandalorian and Grogu.

To date, its global gross stands at $357 million worldwide, elevating young director Kane Parson to in-demand filmmaker status after he became an online fixture thanks to his viral Backrooms shorts.

Backrooms is now A24’s top grossing film in a number of countries, including China, where it is nearing $15 million and has had solid legs, earning $4.7 million this past weekend, declining just 12 percent from its opening. The story is the same in France, where it has toppled Marty Supreme as A24’s top movie, enjoying a drop of just 22 percent over the weekend. It is also the indie studio’s top grossing film of all time in Russia & CIS, Poland and Thailand.

Other places it is holding well include Germany, which increased 5 percent weekend over weekend with $1.1 million, and Taiwan, where it was down just 26 percent from the previous weekend with a total haul of $2.5 million.

In Belgium & Luxembourg, the film has passed 1 million euros, and in the Netherlands, its gross dropped just 9 percent weekend over weekend. In the Benelux territory overall, it has grossed $4 million.

Backrooms arrived two weeks after Curry Barker’s Obsession became a breakout success. That film, also from a director who cut his teeth on YouTube, has grossed $403 million globally to date.
