Boris Brejcha has announced his first-ever orchestral performance, taking place on July 26 at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Presented as part of the venue’s KCRW Festival series, the special performance will see the German producer joined by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, marking the first time his signature “high-tech minimal” sound will be reimagined with a full live orchestra.

For an artist known for pushing creative boundaries, the concert represents a landmark moment that blends the precision of electronic production with the scale and emotion of a symphonic performance.

A Historic First For High-Tech Minimal

Since emerging onto the electronic music scene nearly two decades ago, Brejcha has carved out a sound entirely his own.

Often credited with creating the “high-tech minimal” genre, the masked producer has built a global following through intricate productions, cinematic melodies, and marathon performances at festivals including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and Cercle.

Now, that catalog will receive an entirely new interpretation as orchestral arrangements accompany his music for the first time ever. According to the Hollywood Bowl, the performance is Brejcha’s first orchestra show anywhere in the world, making the Los Angeles concert a unique milestone in his career.

Electronic Music Meets One Of America’s Most Iconic Venues

Few venues carry the history of the Hollywood Bowl.

Since opening in 1922, the open-air amphitheater has hosted legendary performances spanning classical music, jazz, rock, film scores, and contemporary artists. While electronic music has become an increasingly common part of its programming in recent years, full orchestral collaborations remain rare.

Brejcha’s performance will be backed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra under the direction of Derrick Hodge, offering fans an opportunity to experience familiar tracks through a completely new lens. The concert is part of the Bowl’s annual KCRW Festival series, which regularly showcases innovative collaborations across musical genres.

A Growing Trend In Dance Music

Brejcha joins a growing list of electronic artists exploring orchestral performances.

In recent years, artists such as RÜFÜS DU SOL, Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics, deadmau5, and The Glitch Mob have incorporated orchestral elements into live performances, highlighting the increasing recognition of electronic music’s compositional depth beyond the dancefloor.

For Brejcha, whose productions often feature layered melodies and cinematic arrangements, an orchestral adaptation feels like a natural progression rather than a departure from his signature sound.

With his first-ever orchestral performance now on the horizon, Boris Brejcha is once again proving that electronic music continues to find new ways to evolve.
