Dry Cleaning brought their distinctive blend of post-punk tension, angular guitars and dry wit to Auckland’s Hollywood Avondale Theatre last night, delivering a performance that was both understated and captivating.
Led by Florence Shaw’s unmistakable spoken-word delivery, the London quartet moved effortlessly through a set that kept the audience locked in from the opening moments through to the encore.
Photographer Marc Peretic was there to capture the evening as it unfolded, documenting the band’s unique stage presence, the moody atmosphere of the theatre and the connection between performers and crowd. These images offer a glimpse into a memorable Auckland performance from one of the most distinctive and compelling bands on today’s alternative music landscape.
Support act was Womb, a shoe gaze trio from Wellington. They are known for their ethereal, atmospheric sound.
