This week on HBO Max, which will merge with Paramount+ later this year, we get another charming DC superhero short, a creepy horror flick from Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller, and a sleazy Hollywood scandal series. We’ve got a rundown of everything new streaming below.
This Week on HBO Max: PCMag’s Picks
Dust Bunny (April 17)
Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller made his directorial debut last year with Dust Bunny, a clever horror flick that has all of the visual sizzle he’s known for, along with some great performances. Mads Mikkelsen plays a taciturn hitman who meets the 8-year-old girl next door and gets roped into killing the monster she thinks is hiding under her bed. Needless to say, this isn’t a problem a few bullets can solve.
Krypto Saves the Day: Coastal Catastrophe (April 18)
The Man of Steel’s trusty dog was one of the highlights of 2025’s Superman, and if you crave more canine crimefighting, the animated Krypto Saves the Day shorts airing on HBO Max will scratch that itch. “Coastal Catastrophe” is the fourth and final installment, in which the Last Pup of Krypton must tackle a day of trouble at the beach (along with Supergirl). A second season of the series was just announced.
