The film shot in the “Heart of Mercer County” aka Princeton, WV is making headlines in the trades.

While “Deadline Hollywood” reports no release date for film just yet — what we can tell you is it’s produced by Princeton’s own Kevin Sizemore and his wife, Gina Lombardi.

Directed by Joanne Hock (When We Last Spoke), Disconnected “centers around the Walker family as they navigate personal loss and the consequences of online manipulation. Set against the backdrop of a school system heavily reliant on technology, the Walker’s and a group of courageous students challenge a corrupt administration as they fight to reclaim their community and their lives.”

“Disconnected is a wake-up call for our hyper-connected world,” said Hock. “It’s a story about how one family and a group of brave students in small-town West Virginia fight back against the toxic grip of AI surveillance, deepfakes, and social media manipulation to reclaim their humanity, their school, and their future.”

It stars Kayla Ewell and Brian Dietzen of The Vampire Diaries and NCIS respectively.

The movie tells the story of how deepfakes turn the school life of a teen upside down and one family’s journey navigating through the ordeal.

The film also boasts a casts with roots in the Two Virginias and ties across the South.

Also starring in the film is Bluefield native, Dreama Denver, country music legend, T. Graham Brown and star of Everybody Still Hates Chris, Gunnar Sizemore.

Sizemore is the son of film producers Kevin and Gina.

The senior Sizemore telling WVVA several months ago when a release date is solidified he wants the premiere in his hometown.
