‘The Northman’ boasts a wonderful cast including Anya Taylor-Joy, Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Claes Bang, Gustav Lindh, and many others. This film is based on the legend of the Amleth from Gesta Danorum by Saxo Grammaticus and is set in AD 895. The plot revolves around Viking king Amleth who vows for revenge after his uncle Fjölnir usurps the throne, kills his father, and takes his mother as a prisoner. Years later when he finds out that his uncle is no longer a king, and now lives in a farm in Iceland, he plots his revenge and enters his property as a slave. However, he ends up uncovering a dark secret. The film is available on Netflix and Prime Video.
