Taking to the stage under low lighting that fits their dark alternative rock roots, East Kilbride’s own The Jesus and Mary Chain are a great opener for tonight’s show.
Despite it being an all-seated affair, the crowd are up on their feet and dancing from the moment the set kicks off.
The band start things with ‘Jamcod’ – with its catchy chorus, quickly followed by ‘Some Candy Talking.’
It’s a nice suprise when Primal Scream bassist Simone Butler joins on vocals for ‘Venal Joy’. She leaves for ‘In a Hole’, but we are promised she will return.
After a brilliant performance of ‘Head On’, Butler rejoins for a two song stint featuring ‘Sometimes Always’ and the iconic ‘Just Like Honey’.
Closing out with ‘Reverence’, The Jesus and Mary Chain deliver a set that primes the Glasgow audience for the main event.

Comprising shock rock icon Alice Cooper, Hollywood superstar and musician Johnny Depp, Aerosmith guitar legend Joe Perry, and Winger/Alice Cooper guitarist Tommy Henriksen, the rock royalty supergroup which is Hollywood Vampires take to the stage.
The show launches with an intro video depicting the four core members as skeletons transforming into their human forms on screen, accompanied by massive bursts of smoke as the band appears on stage.
An opening run of ‘I Want My Now’, ‘Raise The Dead’, and the classic ‘I’m Eighteen’, instantly sets the tone for the night – which is all out rock n roll!

There are huge cheers when Johnny Depp takes over lead vocals for a cover of ‘Venus In Furs’, before the tone shifts during ‘People Who Died’, a tribute featuring visuals on the screens at the back of the stage of lost musical icons, with Ozzy Osbourne getting a huge cheer.
It’s Joe Perry’s turn to take center stage now, as he steps up to take vocals on ‘You Can’t Put Your Arms Round A Memory’, which features Alice Cooper strapping on a guitar.
Following an impressive bass solo by Chris Wyse, giant inflatable vampire teeth drop down from the ceiling, remaining suspended above the stage for the rest of the night.
The set is a mix of covers and originals, and we’re back to the latter with ‘Who’s Laughing Now’.
Fresh setlist addition ‘Livin’ On The Edge’ brings the Aerosmith flair, followed by a powerful rendition of ‘Baba O’Riley’ – dedicated to Keith Moon who was one of Cooper’s closest friends. We also get an extraordinary drum solo by Glen Sobel!
Alice Cooper is on harmonica on ‘Bright Light Fright’ before introducing ‘Roadhouse Blues’.

He shares a memory of drinking with Jim Morrison, remarking that given how heavily Morrison drank, it is a miracle he even made it to 27.
Tommy Henriksen takes the mic for a brilliant ‘Highway To Hell’, dedicated to AC/DC’s Malcolm Young and Bon Scott – by this point the venue is in full rock n roll singalong mode!
The main set closes out with a mashup of ‘School’s Out’ and ‘Another Brick In The Wall’. Giant balloons bounce across the arena, with Cooper popping any that drift near the stage – all with a menacing smile on his face.
Returning for an encore of ‘Train Kept A-Rollin’ and ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’, the Hollywood Vampires cap off a phenomenal, unforgettable night in Glasgow. Truly a show to catch for any fan of rock n roll!
