Future pop culture trivia players, take note: The answer to the question of “Which show moved Stranger Things out of the No. 1 spot on the streaming charts in January 2026?” is His & Hers.

The (perhaps overly) twisty Netflix limited series climbed to the top overall ranking on Nielsen’s charts for Jan. 12-18 with 2.24 billion minutes of viewing. Stranger Things fell one spot with 1.91 billion minutes, the first time since its final season debuted in late November (a span of seven weeks) that it was not the top title.

Several other shows also had strong weeks. Landman reached a series high of 1.77 billion viewing minutes on Paramount+ in the week leading up to its second season finale on Jan. 18. The Pitt crossed the billion-minute mark for the first time, recording 1.16 billion on HBO Max two weeks into its season. On Peacock, The Traitors drew 892 million minutes, beating its prior high mark — set a week earlier — by more than 100 million minutes. (NBCUniversal says that as of Feb. 1, The Traitors has 3.2 billion minutes of viewing since its current season premiered, up 66 percent over the same period a year ago.)

Hulu’s Tell Me Lies made its first appearance on the Nielsen charts for the week of its season three premiere, scoring 391 million minutes of viewing. Netflix’s mystery miniseries Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials also debuted in the original series rankings with 374 million minutes.

The Rip, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, dominated the movie rankings (and placed fourth overall) with 1.39 billion minutes of watch time. A documentary about the making of Stranger Things’ final season also made the top 10 movies with 307 million minutes.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences. The top streaming titles for Jan. 12-18, 2026, are below.
