Vietnamese entertainer Tran Thanh is celebrating a milestone in his career after making a successful return to voice acting, with the Vietnamese-dubbed version of the Hollywood animated blockbuster Minions and Monsters helping propel the film past VND120 billion (US$4.6 million) at the domestic box office.
According to Box Office Vietnam, the film remained the country’s highest-grossing release in its second weekend, earning a cumulative VND120 billion as of July 12.
Sharing the achievement with his more than 18 million followers on social media, Tran Thanh described the result as a dream come true.
“Minions and Monsters has surpassed VND100 billion. It feels like a dream. I’m so proud to return to voice acting after 13 years, with the dubbed version accounting for more than 70% of the film’s total revenue,” he wrote.
The achievement marks Tran Thanh’s first voice acting role in more than a decade and highlights the growing popularity of Vietnamese-language dubbed releases among local audiences.
Tran Thanh also appeared in Running Man Vietnam 2026: Lord of Time, which debuted in cinemas over the weekend and ranked fourth at the Vietnamese box office with VND6 billion (US$230,000) in ticket sales.
