Have you ever wanted to own a piece of TV and movie magic history?

Well, then look no further than Los Angeles where a massive auction is set to take place for some of the most iconic things ever used in films over the last half century.

Dozens of items like Jack Nicholson’s character’s ax from “The Shining,” the mosquito fossilized in amber from “Jurassic Park,” Ken Kirzinger’s Jason Voorhees hockey mask from “Freddy vs Jason,” and the scissor hands used by Johnny Depp’s character’s in “Edward Scissorhands” can be yours when these items and more hit the auction block next month.

It’s all part of Propstore’s Summer Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction taking place over four days from August 26-29 at Peterson Automotive Museum in LA.

“Propstore presents a four-day live auction of over 1,400 film & television lots, as well as more than 300 lots of autographs & sports memorabilia,” per an announcement about the event.

“In the 1970s these artifacts weren’t really viewed as cultural treasures that need to be preserved,” Propstore COO Brandon Alinger told LA Magazine.

“It’s amazing that these things have survived to be appreciated.”

Some of the bigger ticket items include John Travolta’s iconic three-piece white dancing suit — from the 1977 movie “Saturday Night Fever” — which is estimated to go for $400,000 at the event.

Other items include the screen-matched fossil in “Jurassic Park,” which is expected to go for $200,000 while “The Shining” ax could catch $100,000, per the company.

One of the most expensive props this year is a 15-inch stop-motion animation puppet from “Mighty Joe Young.” It is believed to be the “only fully intact puppet surviving from the landmark 1949 film. It has an estimated price of between $1 million and $3 million dollars, with a starting bid at $500,000.

Before items hit the auction block, there will be an exclusive preview event taking place July 30-August 2 in West Hollywood.

Guests will get a chance to view items in the collection like collectibles from such movies as “Castaway,” “Harry Potter,” “Back to the Future,” and more that will be featured in this year’s auction.

There’s also items from numerous Marvel movies, “300,” “The Fifth Element,” “Batman and so much more, not too mention items from the iconic original TV series “Star Trek.” The list goes on and on.

“Nostalgia plays a big part in people collecting things from when they grew up,” Alinger said.

“There’s always going to be interest in Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne.”

“But it’s a different collector base,” he added, noting the collectors that will come out for this event will be those who developed an attachment to the movies and TV shows of the last 50 years.

In person bidding on the first day will take place at the museum, with online, telephone and absentee bidding the remaining days. Registration and more information can be found here.
