Jennifer Todd, the veteran producer known for films including Memento, Boiler Room and the Austin Powers franchise, and the co-producer, with Michael De Luca, of the 89th and 90th Oscars ceremonies, will produce the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 17th annual Governors Awards, the organization announced Monday.

Todd, a member and former governor of the Academy’s producers branch, succeeds Jennifer Fox, who produced the past seven editions of the ceremony at which the Academy presents special honors including honorary Oscars and, on occasion, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and/or the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.

At this year’s Governors Awards, which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15 in Hollywood, the Academy will present honorary Oscars to actress Glenn Close, animator Floyd Norman and director Ridley Scott, and the Thalberg to producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler.

“We are thrilled to have Jennifer leading this year’s Governors Awards,” Academy president Lynette Howell Taylor said in a statement. “Her expertise in producing will undoubtedly create a beautiful evening celebrating the artistry of this year’s exceptional honorees.”

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to produce this cherished Academy event,” added Todd. “I’m looking forward to honoring the remarkable achievements of five artists with a tribute that reflects the lasting cultural impact they have made.”
