Madonna is back at No. 1 as her latest album Confessions II has debuted atop Billboard’s 200 albums chart, the publication confirmed on Sunday, marking the pop icon’s 10th number one in her career.

Confessions II opened with 134,000 units overall, Billboard reported, with 114,000 coming from traditional sales. The album also earned 20.1 million first-week streams.

Madge spent the months leading up to the release heavily promoting the album, debuting lead single “Bring Your Love” during Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set at Coachella back in April. She’d follow up that surprise appearance with pop-up shows in West Hollywood and in New York’s Times Square, as well as with a short film at Tribeca Film Festival last month.

Confessions II is Madonna’s first album since 2019’s Madame X, which itself opened at No. 2 at the time. Her latest record is garnering significant critical acclaim, as Confessions II is widely being lauded as her best album since 2005’s original Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Madonna managed to beat out Olivia Rodrigo’s You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which came in at No. 2 this week but still sat above 100,000 units in its fourth week on the chart. Ella Langley’s Dandelion took third, Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem came in fourth and Drake’s Iceman rounds out the top 5.

With her No. 1 secured, Madonna will continue her album campaign with a co-headlining slot at the inaugural FIFA World Cup Halftime Show, where she’ll perform alongside Justin Bieber, BTS and Shakira.
