French outfit mk2 films has come on board NAZA, the new documentary from No Other Land Israeli directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, recently selected for competition at the Venice Film Festival.

The film is produced by The Guardian newspaper in the U.K. And James Wilson of JW Films, producer of Oscar-winner The Zone of Interest. Zone director Jonathan Glazer is executive producer.

Shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, NAZA claims to reveal “in detail the systems behind Israel’s calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.” The film builds on revelations first published by the Israeli-Palestinian publication +972, Hebrew-language outlet Local Call and The Guardian between 2023 and 2025. The title, NAZA, is a military acronym the producers say is “euphemistically used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians that it expects will be killed in an airstrike.”

“Beyond the power of its testimonies and the rigor of its journalistic approach, the film by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor struck us for the cinematic excellence of its form,” said mk2 CEO Nathanaël Karmitz and managing director Fionnuala Jamison in a statement. “The intelligence of its direction resonates deeply with mk2’s history as a film company whose mission has always included giving audiences, through cinema, the keys and tools to confront the truth of the world we live in, however difficult that truth may be.”

No Other Land, a look at the Israeli military’s destruction of Palestinian villages in the West Bank, which Abraham and Szor co-directed together with Palestinian filmmakers Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal, premiered at the Berlin film festival in 2024, winning best documentary.

The film struggled to find a traditional distributor in the U.S. and eventually self-released in a rollout coordinated by Cinetic Media and Michael Tuckman Media. It went on to win the Oscar for best documentary.
