A performer began living inside a furnished billboard above Sunset Boulevard Thursday as part of a promotional campaign for Netflix’s upcoming film “The Last House.”

The installation, at Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue, features a furnished living room built into a billboard about 30 feet above the ground. Through Saturday, the performer will interact with commuters and passersby using a whiteboard while remaining inside the enclosed space.

Videos posted on social media showed the performer waving to people below and carrying out everyday activities inside the billboard. The man was also seen using binoculars to take in the sights overlooking the Sunset Strip.

According to Netflix, the installation is intended to recreate the premise of “The Last House,” in which a family of four becomes trapped inside its home with no way to escape while struggling to survive as food and other resources dwindle and a mysterious threat keeps them confined.

The film stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura and was directed by Louis Leterrier.

The billboard installation follows the reopening of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood after repairs to a major water main break near Holloway Drive.
