We would never dare refer to the Hollywood Bowl’s celebrated shell as a “half plate” or even a series of stacked dishes placed on their sides.
True, there is a wonderful roundness to the stage’s famous frame, which can summon to mind the classic dish form, and the fact that “Bowl” is in the venue’s name?
Simply being there can put a music fan in a major mood for some fanciful and flavorful food.
Not just any food, of course, but the acclaimed menus that are synonymous with supping during a summer show at the Hollywood Bowl. The luscious, genre-spanning, snacks-to-desserts line-up was just announced for the 2026 season, the 11th outing for Hollywood Bowl Food + Wine.
Presented by chef Suzanne Goin and restauranteur Caroline Styne, the appetizing offerings have breadth: From full-service, sit-down-and-linger dinners to quick sips and bites, the Hollywood Bowl’s dining options are plentiful.
Some of the options to consider before making your way to the tasty Tinseltown landmark? Larder Baking Company is the spot for pizza pies while the Burrito Kiosk will offer a trio of selections.
The popular Picnic Boxes are back, too, with three courses in one handy, carry-to-your-seat or elsewhere container. There are four to choose from, with The All-American likely to be a sought-after choice (Ms. Goin’s fried chicken with buttermilk dressing is the star).
And choosing to savor “Supper in Your Seats” is a tempting route; a Piri Piri whole chicken, complete with fries, is one tummy-filling route, as is the Baja Seafood Feast.
The Hollywood Bowl 2026 season begins June 20 and runs, on select nights, into the early fall; while many visitors arrive with picnics, other guests choose to figure out their food when they arrive, putting the focus on snacks, street food, and goodies purchased at the on-site marketplaces.
Wine tastings are also a focus on Wednesday and Sunday nights, with the pros behind the labels stopping by to chat vintages, tannins, and nose.
Still, planning in advance is always recommended, and a must for some of the options (chefs will need time to prep your order). Tuck in your favorite bib and take a gander at all of the gourmet offerings, quick and quality and oh-so-Bowl-y, at this page.
The Hollywood Bowl’s shell may not be truly reminiscent of a stack of dishes on its side, but sitting down to a satisfying meal ahead of a concert is a time-honored Southern California tradition for those who love tasty plates and tasty tunes.
