Robert Pattinson Would’ve Been ‘Devastated’ to Drop Any 2026 Film

Robert Pattinson is on a run at the movies.

The actor, who just touched down at the Venice Film Festival, is on a brief break while filming The Batman: Part II during a year that will see consecutive releases of The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime and Dune: Part Three. During a press conference ahead of the world premiere of A24’s Primetime from Lance Oppenheim, in which he stars as To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen, the busy actor was asked to take stock of his banner year.

“It’s unusual for me because I knew what my schedule was going to be for the first time in my life for like two years, and so I could wind myself up and pace myself a little bit,” he explained while seated on a panel with Oppenheim and his Primetime castmates Phoebe Bridgers, Merritt Wever, Bokeem Woodbine and Skyler Gisondo.

He then noted that his hectic schedule became easier to manage after becoming a father with partner Suki Waterhouse. “I just had a baby as well, so I kind of had no desire to go out at night. Suddenly I had like twice as much time to do anything, which was very, very helpful,” he said.

Pattinson then said that because he’s been so inspired by his projects, he gets something in return even while he’s giving up all his time. “All of these projects — it’s just such an unbelievable privilege. I would have been devastated to have dropped any of them. I couldn’t even believe if I got one of them, I would have been so, so thrilled,” he said.

The actor got a lot of laughs when he described the quick change that had to happen when he segued from Primetime, which marks his first producer credit from being on a project at the very beginning to the end, to Christopher Nolan’s eventual billion-dollar blockbuster.

“Once you get the momentum going, it’s actually strangely not that hard. The first day, the transition day, is kind of strange. Like, I definitely can hear a little Chris Hansen in The Odyssey when I watch it. It was literally a few hours later. Once you start spinning plates, it gets quite addictive, and you kind of wanna you wanna have your full capacity going all the time.”

That said, he’s not able to spin any plates while filming the sequel to The Batman. “I had a little break after I finished Dune, so I had some time to go into Batman. But I’m definitely not doing simultaneous stuff during Batman. It’s impossible.”
