While Sam Elliott, 81, is widely known for his work in Western films, he has built an impressive catalog across several genres throughout his Hollywood career.
With all of his success, Elliott was featured in a major announcement this week.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame announced its 2027 class, and Elliott was among those selected to receive a star in the “Motion Pictures” category. The date of his star unveiling has yet to be revealed.
Joining Elliott in the “Motion Pictures” category were Cheech & Chong, Kate Hudson, Idris Elba, Sam Rockwell, and Ted Sarandos. Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning were also selected for a joint ceremony.
With a tremendous resume featuring iconic roles in Tombstone, The Sacketts, Gettysburg, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Roadhouse, and more recently 1883 and Landman for Season 2, many fans were shocked to realize it took this long for Elliott to receive the Hollywood honor.

“MORE THAN DESERVED!” one fan said.
Someone else added, “How is he just now getting one?”
Another person wrote, “What took so long? I hope Kurt Russell is one of the speakers.”
“I’m not a fan of the Walk of Fame, but Sam deserves any kind of recognition he can get,” a fan shared.
One more commented, “Should’ve done that 20 years ago.”
