Director Ryan Coogler’s allegorical vampire film Sinners, starring Michael B Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld, is among the big winners at the recent Hollywood Music In Media Awards. In addition to Best Score, it won Best Song for a Feature Film for the track ‘I Lied To You’ and Best On-Screen Performance for Miles Caton’s act in the song, featuring lyrics by Raphael Saadiq and Ludwig Göransson. In addition to its vampire story that works as an exploration of racism in the USA, the film also pays tribute to blues music.

The documentary named Diane Warren: Relentless won in two categories: Song – Documentary Film for ‘Dear Me’ and Music Documentary – Special Program. Meanwhile, the Pop Demon Hunters track ‘Golden’ took home Best Song – Animated Film, whereas the title track from Spike Lee’s film Highest 2 Lowest won Best Song – Independent Film.
