Hollywood Vampires dropped “Ace Of Spades” as their second single from the upcoming live album At Montreux Jazz Festival. The rock supergroup, which includes Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen, captured this track when they played the 2018 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
This song pays homage to Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead. A live video filmed in Montreux accompanies it.
“Lemmy was one of a kind,” the band says on their Instagram. “‘Ace Of Spades’ remains one of the defining songs in rock history, and this performance honors his legacy.”
The live album will be released on Aug. 7 in a streaming version, then on CD and vinyl on Oct. 16 through earMUSIC. This 19-track collection includes several covers the group had never issued before, plus songs they wrote themselves.
The supergroup formed in 2015. They released their debut album that year, packed with star-studded collaborations and classic rock covers. Rise, their second studio work, appeared in 2019 with fresh compositions. They’ve performed at big festivals and sold-out shows around the world, drawing millions of streams while moving serious units.
The group issued their first live album, Live In Rio, in June 2023. That one was recorded at the Rock In Rio festival before more than 100,000 fans back in September 2015.
The Montreux Jazz Festival performance in 2018 showcased the group playing at one of the most famous music festivals on the planet. The set mixed theatrical rock with tributes to deceased musicians and heroes.
The act hits the UK and Europe starting Aug. 12. Shows roll through London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and Halifax before moving on to Germany, France, Italy, Croatia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland. The tour closes Sept. 10 in Łódź. All dates are listed on their website.
