‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ continued its extraordinary box office run in its fourth weekend at the global box office.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ box office haul

As per the latest reports on Box Office Mojo, the film collected an estimated USD 39 million from 4,006 theatres in North America and retaining its No. 1 spot at the box office, despite the arrival of several new releases. The Marvel Studios-Sony tentpole has now grossed USD 854.9 million domestically and is now set to become the highest-grossing Marvel film of all time.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ becomes second-highest-grossing film at North American box office

The film is closing in on ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which earned USD 858.3 million in North America. With just USD 3.4 million separating the two films. ‘Brand New Day’ is also poised to become the second-highest-grossing domestic release of all time, behind only ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, which grossed USD 936 million.With this, the film is now only the fourth movie to cross the USD 800 million mark at the North American box office.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ crosses USD 2.2 billion mark

Globally, as per box office reports, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has crossed an estimated USD 2.22 billion worldwide. It ranks among the biggest films in history, trailing only ‘Avatar’ (USD 2.9 billion) and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (USD 2.7 billion), while remaining ahead of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (USD 2.3 billion). ‘Endgame’ continues to be Tom Holland’s highest-grossing film worldwide.

‘Insidious: Out of the Further‘ takes over second spot

Sony also claimed the second spot with ‘Insidious: Out of the Further’, which opened to USD 25.3 million from 3,303 theatres. The horror sequel added USD 35 million internationally, taking its global opening to USD 60 million. Its domestic debut, however, trails behind the franchise’s previous instalment, ‘Insidious: The Red Door’.

‘The Odyssey‘ crosses USD 1.44 billion mark

At No. 3, Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ continued to maintain an impressive grip over the box office, earning USD 19.5 million, down just 17% from the previous frame. The blockbuster has now grossed USD 539 million in North America and USD 1.44 billion worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing film of the year and the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.

‘PAW Patrol‘ rakes in USD 103 million worldwide

The kids’ animated film ‘PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie’, a sequel based on the popular Nickelodeon television series for preschoolers, which carries a USD 40 million production budget, earned USD 35.4 million domestically and USD 103 million worldwide.

‘Mutiny‘ and ‘The End of Oak Street‘ score big

The action thriller ‘Mutiny’, starring Jason Statham, and Black Bear’s comedy Spa Weekend, featuring Isla Fisher, Leslie Mann, Anna Faris and Michelle Buteau, opened amid stiff competition. The film, as reported by Variety, earned an estimated USD 7.5 million from 2,703 theatres.Meanwhile, the prehistoric sci-fi mystery ‘The End of Oak Street’, starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, grossed USD 38 million in North America and USD 86 million worldwide. Made on an USD 80 million production budget, the film will need to approach the USD 200 million mark at the global box office.‘Spa Weekend’ came in at No. 9 with USD 3.05 million from 2,009 screens. It carries a roughly USD 20 million price tag.
