Tony Awards 2026
Broadway’s biggest night returned with star power, milestone celebrations and plenty of surprises as the 79th Tony Awards honoured the finest productions and performances of the season. From acclaimed revivals to crowd-pleasing musicals, the ceremony showcased the depth and diversity of theatre over the past year.
Held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the awards were hosted by Pink and broadcast live on CBS while also streaming on Paramount+. Before the main ceremony, the first set of awards was handed out during the Act One preshow hosted by Laura Benanti and Tituss Burgess.
The evening belonged largely to Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, which emerged as the most-awarded production of the night with six wins. The revival, produced by Scott Rudin and directed by Joe Mantello, earned major honours including Best Direction of a Play for Mantello. Laurie Metcalf also secured a Tony for her performance in the production.
Among musicals, Schmigadoon! and The Lost Boys entered the ceremony tied with 12 nominations each. By the end of the night, both productions had collected four awards apiece. Schmigadoon! also claimed the coveted Best Musical trophy.
Another standout was Ragtime, which converted four of its 11 nominations into wins, including Best Revival of a Musical. Meanwhile, Liberation took home Best Play. Interestingly, that remained its sole win of the evening despite its top-category triumph.
The ceremony also featured special performances marking milestone anniversaries of The Book of Mormon, Chicago and A Chorus Line.
