But it looks like the Colombian singer-songwriter and dancer is now all set to treat us all with another of her FIFA songs. On Friday, Shakira announced that her upcoming FIFA World Cup track is titled ‘Dai Dai’ and will be released soon. In a social media post, she teased the song and revealed that she has partnered with Burna Boy for the same. This has increased everyone’s curiosity about Burna Boy, with many wondering about who he is. Let’s find out.

Who Is Burna Boy?

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, is one of Africa’s biggest global music stars. Hailing from Port Harcourt, he rose to fame with his unique blend of Afro-fusion, a style mixing Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and pop music.

It was in 2022 that Burna Boy first gained major attention with his breakout single ‘Like to Party’ from the album L.I.F.E. Over the years, he became known for socially conscious lyrics, energetic performances and his ability to take African music to international audiences.

His global breakthrough came with albums like African Giant (2019) and Twice As Tall (2020). The latter also won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album, making Burna Boy one of the few Nigerian artists to achieve the honour.

Some of his other popular tracks are Ye, On the Low, Last Last, and City Boys.

Burna Boy has also collaborated with international artists including Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Stormzy. He has also sold out iconic venues like Madison Square Garden and London Stadium, further proving his influence in global music. His fans consider him as a leading ambassador of modern African music worldwide.
