Yungblud brings his IDOLS World Tour to a sold-out PH Live theater in Las Vegas, showing why he is currently dominating the tour scene.

At times, it seems like there isn’t much new in the music scene or touring world. Yungblud, however, seems to have taken that as a challenge, and he is making people stop and take notice. This tour stop was announced months ago, and from the moment it was, there was a huge buzz about it. The show was sold out within two minutes of going on sale. The crowd tonight is one of the most diverse, from kids with their parents to some who haven’t been to a live concert in many years. It is clear no one was missing this stop of the IDOLS World Tour. When you walk into the PH Live theater, you are greeted with signs stating that standing during the show is encouraged. That is clearly not needed encouragement. No one is in a chair, and they won’t be all night.

At 9:15 PM, the stage goes dark, and smoke begins to fill it. “War Pigs” starts to play. After a couple of minutes, a video montage with the word “hello” in different languages comes on the screen behind the band. At the end, Yungblud explodes onto the stage, launching into “Hello Heaven, Hello,” and within thirty seconds, confetti cannons shoot into the crowd. Right from the beginning, you can feel the intensity, and this song has it all. Yungblud begins by just singing, but then adds an acoustic guitar to the song. At this point, people begin to notice the rest of the band in shadows behind him. Not only is there your standard guitar, bass, and drums, but there is also a keyboard and string section. All of this leads to a very robust sound. The set continues with “The Funeral” and “Idols Pt. 1.”

At this point, the stage show steps it up and ads pyrotechnics to the mix with tall flames shooting off in the back of the stage. These will continue through the night. There is no doubt he knows how to work the crowd. He would interact with them while asking them to go crazy, which seems like a tribute to his friend Ozzy Osbourne who always asked the crowd to go crazy. Yungblud encourages people to get on each other’s shoulders and stick out their tongues, and even finds people in the crowd who seem too serious and goads them into participating. It is a great experience to see the interaction, and the crowd loves it.

The set is strong, including songs such as “My Only Angel,” “fleabag,” “Lowlife,” and “Loner.” Of course, one of the highlights is Yungblud’s cover of the Black Sabbath classic “Changes.” For some, Yungblud’s performance of this song is what first made them aware of him, but this show is definitely making them a fan. His passionate speech to the crowd not only honors Ozzy, but he mentions how the stage he is performing on use to be the Aladdin Theater, and that Black Sabbath themselves had played on that stage, and how special that was. This cover doesn’t disappoint. He honors the band with the performance, at the same time, he made it his own, ensuring this cover will be added into those conversations about the greatest covers of all time.

No one sits during the show, no one leaves. The intensity and energy continue throughout the night before the show ends with “Ghosts” and “Zombie.” The entire performance was intense in the best way and fun. During the behind the scene moments of the Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning television special, Ozzy was seen telling Yungblud to go on and conquer America. He took that advice to heart and is certainly doing that. If this tour comes to your town and you are lucky enough to get your hands on tickets, do not miss it. It was an amazing performance, start to finish.
