KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Hollywood lights are set to shine on Downtown Kansas City as it hosts a star-studded world premiere.
The red-carpet event for “Don’t Move” is scheduled for September 8, at the historic Midland Theater. A few tickets remain Thursday morning.
Overland Park native Rob Riggle, who stars in the movie, is expected to walk the red carpet with other celebrities before the screening.
Riggle and other stars will also hold a Q-and-A following the screening at the Midland. the red carpet begins at 6 p.m. and may impact traffic in Downtown Kansas City.
The Kansas City event is one of three exclusive premieres nationwide. The others are Sept. 7 in New York and Sept. 9 in Los Angeles. “Don’t Move opens in theaters nationwide on Thursday, Sept. 11.
“Don’t Move” is adapted from the 2020 novel by Murray and Darren Wearmouth. It follows a church group whose peaceful Ozarks camping trip takes a terrifying turn when they become prey to a mysterious threat. The official trailer is available on YouTube.
This premiere is the latest Hollywood project in Kansas City featuring hometown stars. to bring a project home to Kansas City.
Jason Sudeikis and the “Ted Lasso” cast spent time shooting Season 4 across Kansas City last summer. Heidi Gardner and William H. Macy are currently shooting “The Swimming Lesson” in Kansas City.
