The trailer for Chapter 51, starring Colman Domingo, has been released. Directed by Tyler Shields, the Hollywood serial-killer thriller also has Abigail Breslin in a crucial role.

The film’s synopsis reads, “CHAPTER 51 follows an elusive serial killer known as the Hollywood Killer who turns a high-profile film production into a grisly crime scene, murdering three actresses and casting a dark shadow over the troubled project. As fear, speculation, and chaos spread behind the cameras, the production becomes forever linked to a case that shocks Hollywood and remains unresolved. Years later, former FBI agent Thomas Scott reopens the cold case, revisiting the events surrounding the murders and uncovering secrets that refuse to stay buried.”

Check out the Chapter 51 trailer below:

What do we see in the Chapter 51 trailer?

The trailer starts by showing various clips that comprise the ‘making of Dissident,’ a fictional movie, described as the “most controversial film ever made.” The clips emulate the look of various film stocks from across film history. The text states that three actresses were murdered during the production, leaving investigators with five suspects. “If they wrote this in a script, no one would believe it,” says one character off-screen. The clips seem to pay homage to various classic Hollywood films, but the trailer doesn’t tie them together in a cohesive manner, adding to the mystery of the project.

The film is also one of the more unique projects in Hollywood, as it was shot on multiple large-scale formats, including IMAX, VistaVision, Ultra70 Panavision, and Kodak film stock.

Besides Domingo and Breslin, the film stars Colman Domingo, Emily Alyn Lind, Charlotte Lawrence, Dylan Sprayberry, and Connor Paolo. The film is written, directed, and shot by Tyler Shields, with a score by Neuman Mannas. It was produced by Todd Mandel, Giovanni Ribisi, and Tyler Shields. Steve Carson, Jake Cloobeck, John Ryan Jr., Kenan Thompson, and Tyler Transki serve as executive producers. The film is being distributed by Cineverse.

Shields previously directed Outlaw, Final Girl, the Marilyn Manson: Slay-10 music video, and a variety of short films. Domingo was recently seen in Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, playing a pivotal role in the UFO movie. The celebrated actor has been nominated for two Academy Awards and was previously seen in Euphoria, Michael, The Running Man, and more. Domingo will return in the upcoming third season of The Four Seasons. The actor was also going to be a part of a canceled Steven Spielberg film, and recently went on a skydiving adventure with Bear Grylls.

Chapter 51 will release on digital VOD platforms on June 23, 2026.
