How the Final Night of Hollywood Week Played Out

This episode kicked off by tying up a few loose ends from last week. Braden Rumfelt, Chloe Lauren, Jake Thistle, Chris Tungseth, and Brianna Yancey were sent to the Golden Room to await final judgment — and to see if their journey would continue in Hawaii.

Jeff Probst at the 2025 Emmys

In total, 60 hopefuls filled the Golden Room, but only 30 would move on. After reviewing the performances again, Luke, Lionel, and Carrie began calling contestants back to the stage in groups to reveal their decisions. One by one, 28 names were announced as part of the Top 30.

That left four artists still in limbo.

Before locking in the final two spots, the judges ordered a last-minute sing-off. First up was Jason Garner vs. Michael Garner. Jason sang “That’s All Right” by Elvis Presley, while Michael performed “Drift Away” by Dobie Gray. Michael won the battle of the Garners to claim a place in the Top 30.

Next, MaryJo Young faced off against Chloe Lauren. MaryJo chose “Skinny Love” by Bon Iver, while Chloe delivered “You Stole the Show” by Sienna Spiro. Chloe advanced, bringing MaryJo’s second American Idol journey to another emotional end.

With the sing-offs decided, the final two spots were filled — officially completing the Top 30 heading to Hawaii.
