At the height of awards season, DIRECTV launched a limited-time promotion (valid through March 17) on its already cost-effective MyNews Genre Pack, perfect for live awards show coverage plus local, national and international news. Now, the streaming service is getting ahead of spring break downtime with another well-timed offer on its MyKids Genre Pack.

Regularly $19.99 per month, the special offer prices the MyKids pack at $14.99/mo. for the first two months, following a five-day free trial period. The pack includes 10+ popular kids channels (Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, TeenNick and more) plus a subscription to the Disney+ Basic plan[1] ($11.99 per month on its own)[2].

For context, early last year, DIRECTV introduced Genre Packs to its streaming lineup. Unlike DIRECTV’s more comprehensive, signature packages (ENTERTAINMENT, CHOICE, ULTIMATE and PREMIER), these genre-specific packs were created as an affordable way for customers to tap into their specific areas of interest (i.e. sports, lifestyle) without needing to commit to the provider’s more traditional offerings.

In addition to DIRECTV’s MyKids promotion, its last-chance MyNews offer, as mentioned above, lets new customers take advantage of live news and awards coverage for just $34.99 per month (reg. $39.99 per month) for the first two months, following a five-day free trial period. Local channels included in the MyNews Genre Pack are ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC. National and international news channels include CNN, CNN International, FOX News Channel, MSNBC, CNBC, CNBC World, Fox Business, Bloomberg Television, Newsmax, i24 News, C-SPAN and C-SPAN2[3].

Other Genre Packs include MyEntertainment ($34.99 per month), MySports ($69.99 per month) and MiEspañol ($34.99 per month). For each pack, customers can, of course, take advantage of DIRECTV’s five-day free trial period. On top of these standard Genre Packs, the streamer also has three Mini-Packs that can be added to qualifying base packs: MySports Extra ($12.99 per month), MyHome Team ($19.99 per month) and MyCinema, with a limited-time offer of $0 per month for the first two months when you add it to MyNews. Following the promo, the pack auto-renews monthly at the then-prevailing rate (currently $9.99 per month). Restrictions Apply.

Learn more about each Genre Pack, take advantage of the limited-time promos and sign up for your five-day free trial now at Directv.com/affiliates/genre-packs.

1. Must be 18+. This will not replace any existing Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, or Disney bundle subscription you may already have. All other accounts must be managed separately. You must remain on an eligible plan to retain your offer.

2. The pack will continue at its regular price after the trial and promo period until you cancel it. This offer is for new residential customers only. A valid card is required. Your card may be charged a temporary hold during trial period. After the trial, service renews monthly unless canceled. Prices may vary through third parties. Restr’s apply.

3. Local channels vary by market. The pack will continue at its regular price after the trial and promo period until you cancel it. This offer is for new residential customers only.
