Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 8/13/26 – There are plenty of movies about weddings gone wrong, but DO US PART finds a fresh, funny and surprisingly heartfelt way into familiar territory. Written and directed by Reed Arnold, the film opens in Los Angeles and on Premium VOD on August 14, 2026, and I genuinely enjoyed this one from beginning to end.
The premise is irresistible: Ryan’s wedding day is thrown into chaos when Rose, his college best friend and longtime unrequited love, arrives uninvited and finally decides to say what she should have said years ago. What follows is much more than a wedding-crasher comedy. Secrets begin surfacing, relationships are tested, and poor best man Mark is left trying to keep the entire day from imploding.
What impressed me most was the script. Arnold gives the characters witty, natural dialogue while allowing the comedy to grow out of real emotions rather than simply chasing punchlines. The idea itself is clever and relatable: how much can change when someone finally admits the truth, just at the absolute worst possible moment?
The acting is strong across the board, with Kelly Russo, Travis Laughlin, Reed Arnold and Laura Delhauer creating characters who feel human even when the circumstances become increasingly outrageous. The ensemble has terrific chemistry, which is essential for a story built around friendships, romantic history and secrets that have been simmering for years.
I also loved the music, which complements the tone beautifully and gives the film another layer of personality.
At 94 minutes, DO US PART moves quickly, balancing romance, comedy and drama without overstaying its welcome. It is funny, charming, occasionally messy in exactly the way relationships can be, and ultimately has something meaningful to say about love, timing and the danger of leaving important words unspoken.
DO US PART opens August 14 exclusively at the Laemmle Royal Theatre in Los Angeles and will also be available on Premium VOD.
