The abandoned Amoeba Music building on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood will soon become a health and wellness hub.
New York City-based Bathhouse is set to move in, reports LA Magazine and CoStar. This will be its first West Coast flagship location
The Hollywood location is set to have several community saunas and steam rooms, cold plunges, thermal pools and a rooftop lounge within the 55,000‑square‑foot space. It’s set to be the largest of its three locations.
“Making our way to the other coast,” Bathhouse revealed on social media on Tuesday.
Amoeba Music moved to its current location at Hollywood Boulevard and Argyle Avenue in 2021.
The space is set to open in early 2028.
“Bathhouse is a home for people to look, feel and perform their very best. Guests utilize our amenities (thermal pools, saunas, steam room) in a sleek, modern and socially engaging atmosphere. Our best-in-class massages and scrubs are protocol-driven treatments delivered by a superstar team of practitioners. Anybody with a body can benefit from a Bathhouse service,”its LinkedIn page explains.
The company touts itself as the “anti-spa” when it comes to the experience and calls itself “industry rebels.”
In 2019, founders Travis Talmadge and Jason Goodman opened up their first location in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. Their second location in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood opened in 2024.
