Holland’s latest blockbusters have pushed his career total towards the elite company of Hollywood’s biggest earners

Tom Holland is rapidly approaching another major milestone at the worldwide box office, with his 2026 releases strengthening his position among Hollywood’s most commercially successful leading actors. The latest surge comes from Spider Man: Brand New Day, which has delivered an enormous global run alongside Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, giving Holland two of the year’s biggest theatrical successes.

Spider Man: Brand New Day has become a particularly significant addition to Holland’s career. The Marvel and Sony film has crossed $1bn worldwide at an extraordinary pace and has continued climbing since its release. According to recent box office reporting, the film reached approximately $1.67bn globally after its second weekend, making it the highest grossing film of 2026 at that point.

The film is Holland’s fourth solo outing as Peter Parker, following Spider Man: Homecoming, Spider Man: Far From Home and Spider Man: No Way Home. Sony lists Holland alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo in the cast. The studio also confirms that the film was released exclusively in cinemas on July 31, 2026.

Holland’s box office position has also benefited from The Odyssey, in which he plays Telemachus. The Christopher Nolan epic has become another billion dollar success in 2026, giving Holland two major global hits within the same year. Recent reporting has placed Holland among the leading actors in terms of cumulative worldwide grosses from films in which he has appeared, although exact rankings can vary depending on the methodology used.

The distinction is important because actor box office rankings are not based on a single universally accepted system. Some lists count the worldwide grosses of every film featuring an actor, while others focus on leading roles or allocate ensemble grosses differently. As a result, claims that Holland has definitively entered the top three alongside Zoe Saldana and Scarlett Johansson should be treated as projections rather than an established record.

That does not diminish the scale of Holland’s current run. His previous films already include several enormous worldwide performers. Spider Man: No Way Home finished its original theatrical run with approximately $1.91bn worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. Holland also appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, two of the biggest releases in cinema history.

The latest success therefore adds another powerful chapter to Holland’s commercial record. Spider Man: Brand New Day has also helped propel the wider 2026 theatrical market, with the film accounting for a huge portion of the weekend box office during its second frame. The Associated Press reported a $144.5m domestic second weekend and a $1.67bn global total after 10 days.

For Holland, the momentum arrives at a particularly notable point in his career. At 30, he has already established himself as one of the defining performers of the modern superhero era, while continuing to take on projects outside the Marvel universe. His collaboration with Nolan has now placed him at the centre of another major theatrical success, while Peter Parker remains his most recognisable role.

The numbers surrounding Holland’s career will continue to change as Spider Man: Brand New Day remains in cinemas.
