Jones Hollywood, both frozen in time and somehow eternally popular, remains one of the neighborhood’s most enduring representatives, often becoming a portal straight into a 1990s movie where meet-cutes, cell-phone-free partying, and rock ‘n’ roll deal-making are simply part of the atmosphere. Is it the greatest Italian restaurant in Los Angeles? No. But are you almost guaranteed to lose track of time and have a damn great night? Absolutely.
Anthropologically studying attractive people in various stages of buzz; flirting with strangers of all ages and occupations; sitting at the bar at 8:30 p.m. to “stop by” and then joining parties with some guys in weird hats; making an informal late-night business deal with a music industry executive (that you’ll both forget by morning).
