Hollywood’s biggest names descended on London’s Leicester Square this Monday evening (6 July) as Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey held its star-studded world premiere ahead of its official release on 17 July.
Fans lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the film’s A-list cast, including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson. Director Christopher Nolan also attended the event with his wife Emma Thomas.
Damon, who leads the film as Odysseus, beamed as he was the first arrival of the event. The actor smiled while posing for pictures alongside his wife Luciana and their daughters.
Hathaway was among the evening’s biggest talking points, as she proudly cradled her baby bump in an ethereal blue dress while posing for photographers on the red carpet. The Oscar winner, who plays Penelope in the upcoming movie, recently announced she was expecting her third child with her husband Adam Shulman.

Zendaya also turned heads in an elegant ivory look inspired by Greek mythology, a fitting nod to her role as the goddess Athena in the film. The actor was joined on the red carpet by her husband Tom Holland, who plays Telemachus in The Odyssey, although the pair arrived at the event separately.

Fellow cast members Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’0, Samantha Morton, Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Benny Safdie, and Robert Pattinson were also among those attending the London premiere.
Travis Scott joined the cast on the red carpet later on. The rapper is making a surprise appearance in the film as a bard.
Based on Homer’s ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey follows Odysseus on his perilous journey home following the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters mythical creatures, dangerous enemies, and impossible challenges — while his wife Penelope and son Telemachus fight to protect their kingdom back home.
The film marks Nolan’s first project since the Oscar-winning success of Oppenheimer in 2023. It’s also the first feature film to be shot entirely using IMAX cameras, with production taking place across multiple locations, including Greece, Morocco, Sicily, Malta, and the Moray coast of Scotland.
With all the excitement surrounding it — plus its sheer star power — the film is already shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year.
The Odyssey drops in theatres on Friday 17 July.
