Miley Cyrus Honoured With Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Pop music and pop culture icon Miley Cyrus is the latest person in music to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Flowers singer received the 2,845th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard on Friday (22 May).

American radio host, television personality, and Walk of Famer Ellen K was the emcee of the day, while guest speakers included actress Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion designer Donatella Versace. Cyrus was also joined by her mother, Tish, and her fiancé, musician Maxx Morando.

Cyrus received her star under the Recording category. As a recording artist, she’s received three Grammy Awards, one BRIT Award, five Billboard Music Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards. For digital singles, she’s the ninth-highest certified female artist by the RIAA.

Cyrus has also been named the record holder for eight Guinness World Records and appointed a Disney Legend, the latter for her success in the titular role of Disney Channel’s television series and its follow-up film, Hannah Montana.

Reflecting on being the recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Cyrus said (per ABC 7 News), “What feels so special to me about this star is that it’s an accumulation of devotion.

“The star isn’t something that you win like a seasonal game. It’s not something that you can chase or collect. It’s not something you make the next record for and then tote it around like a trophy. My name is laid in gold and pink terrazzo.”

Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame Producer, added, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome singer Miley Cyrus to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“Miley deserves her flowers as she has made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry, and we are thrilled to honour her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Generations of young girls have grown up watching her evolve, finding inspiration in her journey and fearless creativity.”

Cyrus’s most recent album, Something Beautiful, was released last May and accompanied by a musical film.
